John Cusack is a Chicago boy through and through. If that wasn’t clear when director Spike Lee chose him to play the firebrand Father Mike Corridan in “Chi-raq,” it ought to be clear now: The actor is ready for someone else to enjoy his West Coast beach house, by buying or renting it from him, whichever comes first.
The Malibu beachfront home, which measures 4,300 square feet and has Spanish-style flair along with jaw-dropping views, is listed for $13.5 million, as Variety reported. It’s also available for rent at a whopping $75,000 a month.
Cusack has owned the home since 1999, the year he appeared in “Being John Malkovich” and “Pushing Tin.” He paid $2.1 million for the 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath home that, like many beach houses, boasts an oversized master suite with its own sun deck. All the home’s decks feature glass guardrails to maximize the glittering views of the Pacific.
A living room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a fireplace is ideal for cozying up with a cup of hot cocoa - and at two stories, also high enough to stand comfortably with a boombox over your head.
The listing agent is Brant Didden of 4 Malibu Real Estate.
