Here’s a New York penthouse that’s seen so many legends, it’s hard to decide who to name first. But: Marilyn Monroe.
She moved to the 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment with playwright Arthur Miller after they married in the late ’50s, and it’s where he wrote the final draft of “The Misfits” — which turned out to be Monroe’s last film.
Singer Bobby Short also lived here, as did fashion designer Bill Blass — who hosted parties on the terraces, where guests including Cary Grant and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor mingled. The home is now on the market for $6.75 million.
Located in the quiet enclave of Sutton Place, and just around the corner from Monroe’s character’s place in “How to Marry a Millionaire,” the 2,340-square-foot apartment boasts an additional 3,000 square feet of terraces for entertaining or just relaxing with a view toward the East River.
