For an uptown girl, supermodel Christie Brinkley has been unloading some mighty rural-looking estates. She sold a Hamptons acreage for $10 million a few years ago and this summer is asking $29.5 million for an even larger compound nearby.
Two spacious homes — a main home with a 50-foot observation tower, plus a guest house with a greenhouse conservatory — sit on more than 20 acres with views of the Atlantic Ocean. Brinkley has lived there for 18 years and is selling it, now that she’s an empty nester, to live in “one of her other properties in Sag Harbor on the water,” according to a release from listing agent Enzo Morabito of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
The listed property, dubbed “Tower Hill,” also boasts a heated, 4-car garage and a barn/artist’s studio with living quarters.
Built in 1891, the main house spans more than 8,000 square feet of luxury, with 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a wood-paneled, eat-in family room with a library loft, and a country kitchen with a fireplace that Brinkley told People magazine she decorated herself using stones from a nearby beach. The kitchen and a whimsically designed sun room feature colorfully decorated chandeliers.
The guest house is as large as some main homes, with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths.
