Erin Brockovich Lists Home With Movie-Star Closet

shutterstock_98645915Erin Brockovich, the woman whose tale of taking on a corporate giant became an Oscar vehicle for Julia Roberts, has listed her snazzy California home for $2.35 million.

Located more than two hours from the town of Hinkley - where Brockovich led a lawsuit against Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) for allegedly contaminating the drinking water - the home spans 5,000 square feet with six bedrooms and six bathrooms.

It’s as decked out as the former legal assistant herself, with chandeliers in the foyer and dining room, plus two each in the living room and the eat-in kitchen.

The two-level closet fits the image of an activist who’s known almost as much for her wardrobe as for her straight talk. The canister-lit expanse is lined with elegantly carved built-ins and boasts a center island and a wall of shoes.

A palm-lined pool and entertainment area overlooks the mountains.

Brockovich bought the house in 1997, after she received a $2-million bonus for a blockbuster settlement with PG&E, but before the 2000 release of the blockbuster movie that carries her name. She has recently made headlines again by claiming the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency lied about the severity of a mine wastewater spill that contaminated rivers in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah.

The listing agent is Alan Bess of Engel & Volkers Beverly Hills.
