This Spanish-style home may not be “Empire”-worthy, but Taraji P. Henson called it home for the better part of a decade — and now it can be yours for $3,400 a month.
Long before her Cookie Lyon days, Henson cited the home as evidence of her frugality. “I’m really very low maintenance and always have been,” she said. “I live modestly in the same house in the San Fernando Valley that I have been in for many years.”
Henson bought the 1,406-square-foot home in 2002 for $431,000. It has 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, hardwood floors, French doors, high ceilings and a large swimming pool and entertainment area out back.
She transferred the title to a trust in 2010, just before hitting it big with the sci-fi crime series “Person of Interest.”
Now Henson has moved on — to a role as the powerful ex of music mogul Lucious Lyon in “Empire” and to a bigger house. Last summer, she told the New York Post’s Page Six, “Listen, we’re like the Jeffersons. Now a big L.A. house. To us, it’s a mansion.”
The listing agent for the rental is Venessa Blair of the John Aaroe Group.
